Where
The initial area served is within the west side boundary of Detroit, Michigan. The first location provides services with priority given to the the following zip code areas: 48228, 48227, 48238, Community Forums are open to all. Developing K.I.D.S. is located in the Don Bosco Hall Community Resource Center.

How
The Prevention program serves youth 5-18 years of age through workshops that focus on leadership, social skill development, health, education, goal setting, entrepreneurship, art, culture, relationships and community service.
The activities within the Family Management program provides resources and referrals to families as well as the facilitation of monthly family nigh activities. Past activities have included: ballroom/hustle night, movie night, a beach party, and more. The support to families from Developing KIDS will also concentrate on decreasing the number of children being removed from their homes by strengthening parenting skills and working to prevent neglect.
The Community Support program is a vehicle to support the community by education, informing and providing resources.This program is carried out through the facilitation of quarterly community forums, referrals and special projects.
Grief, Loss & Trauma Support for Youth is a new project that provides programs and activities designed to nurture the emotional and mental health of tomorrow's leaders. Poetry, art, drama and music are employed to help children heal.

All programs and services are provided at NO COST to participants. Developing K.I.D.S. strongly depends on the generous donations, grants and volunteer support from individuals, members of the community, foundations, corporations and organizations to ensure that an alternative to high-risk behavior is provided without financial obstacles deterring families from participating.
